Dear readers,
Please note that Natura Pet is (voluntarily) recalling another lot of pet food due to possible salmonella contamination! (Source: FDA)
ALL PRODUCTS, ALL LOT CODES & ALL SIZES FROM THE FOLLOWING BATCHES WITH EXPIRATION DATES PRIOR TO 10th of June, 2014
EVO dry cat and dog food/ treats/biscuits
California Natural dry dog and cat foods and treats
Mother Nature biscuits and treats
Innova Dry dog and cat food and treats/biscuits
The announcement states that these products are sold throughout USA and Canada, but since we have so many readers from these two places, I thought we should just put up this notice. For Singaporean readers and readers from other countries, Natura Pets did not say anything about recalling from these places. However, just as a precaution, do monitor your pets more if they happen to be on these products at the moment.
Also, ‘voluntary recall’ means that the company was not issued an order to recall the products. This does not necessarily mean that the products are safe for consumption. This was written to answer readers who have told us that pet shops say that the products are ok because the recall was ‘voluntary’. I would think that if the FDA needs to step in and issue an order, things would have gotten pretty bad by then–like the 2007 melamine pet food scare!
(And…maybe you will try raw/home cooked??? Hehe!)
Best wishes!
Arlene
