So I went to order Dr. Billinghurst’s kangaroo BARF because I was curious to see what the cats think of it as compared to Big Dog Pet Food‘s Kangaroo BARF!
There are also many, many BARFs out there…not in Singapore though. I hope to be able to sample them all one day heh.
(For new readers: Some Singaporeans may not want to feed Prey-Model-Raw or even use Premixes because of the lack of time, or whatever other reasons they may have, so I try to sample the pet foods sold out there in the market to see which ones are good and preferred by the furry ones. For the TRE babies, they get premixes on weekdays and PMR on weekends, and the occasional bit of canned food for taste testing. I don’t feed kibble…period.)

Well this looks like any other B.A.R.F. hehe.
Well… *dubious*
Initially I was put off by the brownish meat, but this colouring is only seen at the topmost layers of the meat. Everything underneath looks normal, as you will see later.
I will try to get my hands on another Big Dog Pet Food kitty B.A.R.F to see if it’s consistently this colour.
Placed side-by-side
Based on the same ratio of 4% body-weight feeding, both brands recommend that you feed 1/3 of a patty per 1 kg cat.
So I took a scoop out from each patty and placed it side-by-side on a plate…

Muffin picked BDPF (he used to hate kangaroo. Watch him hate on kangaroo in the BDPF post, the furry pig!)
(I must add here that the Dr. B Barf’s expiry date is further away than BDPF’s, so that might account for a difference in taste. If I can get my hands on packets with similar dates, I’ll try again)

HI, do you face any problem when ordering Dr. Billinghurst raw food online? I submitted my order on wed but I did not received email about my order. I tried emailing to them yesterday to check if they received my order, no one reply as well. So just wonder usually how long they would only get back to their customers?
